The Cambrian Mountains are a wild and empty plateau lying between the Snowdonia and Brecon Beacons National Parks. A vast area of rolling moorland (mostly between 300m to 500m high) with few distinctive hill tops many being unnamed, but these Welsh uplands features the Elan valley, reservoirs which supply Birmingham\'s water. The Cambrian Mountains are also the source for two of Britain best known rivers: the River Severn and Wye. They rise from Plynlimon, the highest mountain in this range at 752m high.

Beautiful! - To it feels a bit as if the horizon/water level was slightly concave. Are you sure it's as good as it can be?

The reservoir is 'J' shaped (see location) and I'm 80 metres above the water line on an uphill footpath. I've checked horizons used grid on the original image. Also the camera is tripod mounted using a sprit level to minimise any distortion. regards, Paul.

Using a tripod for panoramas is not an advantage for me. Your freedom is limited and the results in my opinion are not better. Today's softwares put images together without any problems also if you take pictures freehand. I also miss the rest of the lake. But 3.5 are 4 stars today because the motif is great!
