Aufnahmestandort: Palù del Fersina / Palai en Bersntol (1360 m)      Fotografiert von: Giuseppe Marzulli
Gebiet: Italy      Datum: 26 January 2013
The village of Palù del Fersina (Palae en Bersntol in mocheno language and Palai im Fersental in German) is located at an altitude of 1360 meters in the Mocheni Valley.
The valley is a language island of the Mócheno language.
Mòcheno is an Upper German variety spoken in three small towns of the Mocheni Valley.
Mòcheno is closely related to Bavarian and is variously classified either as a Southern Bavarian dialect or a separate language of its own. Today only 2000 people speak Mocheno.
This is a small description of the church in Mocheno.
"De Kirch ist kemmen gabichen en 1522 ont men boas net gabis benn as de ist kemmen paut. Des groas olter, as ver a toal ist van 1620, der ist va holz, tschnitzlt ont gamolt..."
For an Italian is incomprehensible. For a German I think it is also very difficult to understand.

Thanks for the beautiful panorama and the interesting note about this language island. I've never heard about it....

The sharpness, the details and the colours are extremely great! I also think about buying the D800? It seems to be much better than the D700. What about your experiences with this camera? Are there any disadvantages (o.k. - of course the price ;-))?

Hallo Jörg. I had not the D700, but the D300. I was very fond of the D300, which I appreciated robustness. A few years ago, fording a mountain stream, I had fallen in water with the D300 in hand. I believed of having to throw, but the D300 still worked perfectly.

In my opinion, the D800 is far superior to the D300 as image quality. The advantages of the full frame sensor are considerable. I think the quality of the image of the D800 is amazing, but I can not compare with the D700. Such as flaw, apart from the price, the D800 is quite large and heavy to carry in the mountains or in the cities, but, for me, at the moment, this is not a problem.

excellent quality!! Would be very interesting to talk to those people speaking the mocheno dialect....

Very gladly, Michael. The origin of Mocheni seems to go traced back to an immigration of German settlers, called by the feudal lords of Pergine (near Trento) at the end of the thirteenth century, in order to make productive an area until then sparsely developed.
It seems that Mocheno derived from the German "mache ich", in the dialect becomes Mochen.
But I think the best thing is to read here (in German)
