Located on the Ligurian coast, the small town of Framura is situated within one of the many inlets and coves, typical of the rugged coast of the eastern Ligurian Riviera.
Framura can be defined as the town that doesn't exist, because there is no well-defined town, but contains the frazioni (villages) Anzo, Ravecca, Setta, Costa, and Castagnola (non visible in the pano).
During World War II, American 15-men missions called Operations Ginny I and II tried to land and blow up a railway tunnel between Framura and Bonassola (visible in the pano), but both missions failed.
