The Zwolle-IJsselkanaal connects the river IJssel with the Zwarte Water. It is the waterway of medium-sized container ships on their way to the shipyards in Zwartsluis and Meppel. Recreational boating also takes this route on its way to Giethoorn and the lakes of Friesland. Although Zwolle is not an industrial city, you can see several thousand new Scania trucks under the white pedestrian bridge (left). With around 150 pieces per day, these are assembled in the factory (under the third bridge on the right) and sold throughout Europe.
It is now winter (?) in the Netherlands and the temperature here is 10 degrees Celsius!
