I considered it very, very boring to approach this dune from the front or the parking lot. Hence we went in from luv (approx 275° in JBs pano). On this day this meant two specific advantages - wind from the back and sand blowing not higher than our ankles as long we did not approach the appex of the dune. We had about 5-6 bft, you can see the sand flying in some parts of the frame. It was impossible to talk to Sonja although she was not too far away (in yellow).
Even better than this view was the way through the plain left over by the dune. I was absolutely fascinated by the pionieer plants and the abundance of open water places. An incredible complex ecosystem!
