This picture portrays the end of a day which had started at 1 am, as thoroughly described in my previous panorama, "From behind a sacred mountain".
Who wants to know more about this lake may also have a glance at N.10566, shot the following morning. 9 vertical images, 70 mm (x 1.5), 1/160 sec, f/7.1, ISO 100. |

... you're just show us too many impressive photos, each speaks for itself! Have the viewer become tired? LG Hans-Jörg
Do not worry for me, remember that I had the luck to live that moment, and this is the only important thing. Then comes the point to which extent the picture succeeds in rendering the moment - well, in the past I have also criticized my work under that respect, and I have been even criticized for having criticized myself (13825)!! But in this case I find that the atmosphere is rendered satisfactorily - also because it is a bit self-rendering, to be honest...
So, if for others this is little interesting, no harm: neither for me, because I enjoyed being there, nor for them, because they did not spend one day of their life to be there - plus, alas, *more* than one day day of their life in order to earn the money to get there!!
Apart from these deep philosophical considerations, I must confess to you that my favourite picture on the subject remains www.panoramio.com/photo/75802710
Maybe nowadays I post-produce a little better (at least, I hope...), but those two dark masses in the middle for me remain something. This only to say that I am not dogmatically fond of the panoramic and of the wide. On the contrary, I find that many times compactness is an added value. While to push 240° of junk all around if the interesting matter lives maybe within the central 40°?
