Taken roughly 45 minutes before midnight on the eve of Independence Day. Besides the waiting time of over 3 hours it was such an amazing visit and view. This observatory is in my opinion superior to the Rockefeller Center (although you have to wait a lot longer). One of the few observatories where the view is NOT destroyed by annoying huge glass windows or walls. As usually tripods are not allowed to be used, but since you have a pretty thick wall around - you basically have a dummy tripod at hand.
You have a free undisturbed view over the whole city and all the suburbs and it is just one of the most amazing experiences ever. At daylight I personally enjoyed the view far less, but each to their own.
