Chitrakoot is a fairly small pilgrimage town in Central India. It is mentioned in the Ramayana, that Ram and Sita spent 11 years in exile here after having left Ayodhya. Today there are beautiful ghats (ritual bathing and washing places) along the small river and many temples where pujas are performed.
