The buildings seen in the foreground are those on Via del Teatro di Marcello.
The Teatro di Marcello (in Latin Theatrum Marcelli) is a theater of ancient Rome, still partially preserved, erected by order of Caesar in the southern area of the Campus Martius (known as Circus Flaminius) between the Tiber River and the Capitoline Hill.
The photos were taken 11 years ago.
