Dominating the cityscape especially from the lakeside, the Jet d'Eau is an up to 140 m high fountain installed there originally to release overpressure of waterpipes. Nowadays one of the most famous landmarks of the city. On the left the cathedral dominates the old city above the waterfront where the Rhone river exists lake Geneva.
