1 MONTE MOSCAL, 427m

Details

Location: San Giorgio di Valpolicella      by: Giuseppe Marzulli
Area: Italy      Date: 31 October 2017
West Star (as opposed to Red Star) was the code name for an underground NATO command facility in the province of Verona, about 4 kilometers from Lake Garda. The bunker complex is located in Monte Moscal, between Lake Garda and the Adige Valley, about 25 kilometers north-west of Verona. In the event of war with the Warsaw Pact states, military operations in the northern Italian theater of war should have been directed from here.
It was in the largest bunker in Italy, dug in tunnels hundreds of meters deep under Monte Moscal, and no one knew anything about it.
It can now be visited.

Hmmm lots of landmarks, that should be solvable - unfortunately dinner is calling, and I don't want to miss the delicious lasagne and a glass of red wine now ;-) ... !!

Lasagna and good wine are certainly more important than solving a riddle ;-)
What I can tell you is that this landscape, so peaceful and insignificant, has hidden an important secret for many years.

The hidden secret didn't really help me, Giuseppe ... the densely populated area and the distinctive church at the foot of the mountain should actually be good indicators ... but I have no idea, even though I tried again :( !! Is that the sea with mountain ranges in the background on the left?

It's not the sea, it's a lake. It's not easy. It's a Cold War secret.
