Aufnahmestandort: Fakkebjerg (37 m)      Fotografiert von: Jan Lindgaard Rasmussen

Fakkebjerg is one of the best viewpoints on the danish island of Langeland, even at its modest 37 meters. The view goes beyond the southern part of Langeland a.o. to Germany, and the islands of Ærø and Lolland.

Langeland is a microcosmos of the glacial series of Denmark; the island as a whole is the western lateral moraine of the Great Belt glacier, with many tafel-shaped hills being drumlins, which are smaller deposits from melting floods. Also of interest are the many tumulus's; the island hosts the most dense numbers in Denmark.

Although not completely optimal Fernsicht I show this one, since I don't get around here much normally. Strangely, much of the most important parts of the view can be seen here, but only minutes later, the farthest visible parts were gone when I wanted to make a tele pano.

Pano made from 29 pics (RAW), 70-200mm@70mm, f/6,3, iso-250, 1/500 sec, developed in DPP (daylight, neutral, moderate sharpness), stitched in PTGui pro, contrats, scale, and sharpness in Irfanview.

Wow, that's a fantastic viewpoint and superb panorama, Jan - the fine colourful patterns in the landscape and also the sunlit sections on the sea are great eye-catchers!!!

Cheers, Hans-Jörg

Always amazing what you can get from extremely modest hills. Cheers, Martin

How you will probably know, I almost never visit regions north of the Main river.
So of course I never have been in Denmark. With your panos I now know a lot of the kind of landscape there and I like it!
