Location: Vigur (30 m)      by: Jan Lindgaard Rasmussen
Area: Iceland      Date: 2022-07-05, 14:34
The highlight of this day was supposed to be a whale-watching trip, but due to a mistake at the ticket center, the trip was cancelled due to a private booking of the boat to Vigur, an island with puffins, seals, etc, and cultural heritage. We were offered a discount and to join, which we did since no other trip was possible in that day.

It was a nice island, but the looong mandatory intro by an american guide, and the restriction of only roaming on the southern part of the island, was a bit disappointing. So if you wonder why I didn't go further to the highest ground, the answer is I wasn't allowed. But nice enough, all in all - even the weather.

Pano made from 39 HF pics (RAW), 50 mm, iso-100, f/10, 1/400 sec, developed in DPP (daylight, neutral, moderate sharpness), stitched in PTGui pro, scaling and sharpening in Irfanview.

What a weather, and this north-west "Zipfel" of Iceland seems to be a highly attractive landscape ... I'm deeply impressed by your wonderful panorama, Jan ... maybe because this region is absolutely unknown to me - and if I should visit this country again, after more than 14 years, this region is a "must" !!!

Thanks for sharing!! Have a great day and warm greetings,
Hans-Jörg

Indeed - great place and scenery. What about cutting off some pixels of sky? Kind regards Peter

I agree with HJB2 and Peter.

Finest wheather on Island, also with clear air and view. So it's an unusual and rare situation you present us. But I also ask: Why so much sky?

This splendid view should more than make up for missing the whales. Cheers, Martin

Yes, why so much sky? I guess I found the foreground too dominating otherwise. Also, I think one gets a certain grandeur when the skypart outways the sub-horizon part. But I have taken the suggestions seriously, and so cut off a substatial part of the sky.
