Severel top dogs of PP has already shown panos from here, the likes of Johannes Ha, Peter Brandt, Jörg Engelhardt, Christoph Seger, and Patrick Runggaldier. So, is mine different or makes any contributions to our common knowledge of the location?

No, not really, only that it partly shows how overrun the site really is. Which is nobodys fault, since eeeverybody and their dog wants to see this place.

So why didn't I pick a more quiet place to shoot it? Well, I tried, but I was beaten in the race with the clouds over Hvannadalshnúkur. The clouds to the left covered the fjell completely in only a few minutes, and I wanted as much of the fjell to be visible. By chance, a little part of the crater is visible here, at the label.

Also, I have the least blue on my icebergs, compared to the other panos. I think it's because I had the sun from behind. Gegenlicht or overcast would probably have helped.

But all that is not important. It is an awesome place, and really a "bucket list"-moment to tick it off :-)

Pano made from 15 pics (RAW), 70-200mm@70mm, iso-100, f/9, 1/640 sec, developed in DPP (daylight, neutral, moderate sharpness), stitched in PTGui pro, scaling and sharpening in Irfanview.

I like this view and I think it ist not too similar to the others.
For me it is a little bit dark, but I enjoy it also like it is.

From such a place every new variant is welcome, especially if it is in your continuously high quality. Aside from the spectacular scenery, I like how you incorporate the realities of the tourist business at the right and in your text. Cheers, Martin
