After enjoying Reyðarfjörður, Fáskrúðsfjörður was the next fjord to enjoy. The island Skrúður just outside the fjord was a natural focus when scanning the landscape. The name can best be translated as "The humpbacked-like". In danish, the word "Skrut-rygget" means to walk in a bent position, as with a heavy burden/being weak, ashamed, or cold/etc.
