This is my first pano ever. At the time, I had not even a camera. I shot the pics with the camera of my best friend and not with the intention to make a pano with it. But recently I discovered that some of the pics were suited to make a short pano. I am astonished that no one here published a pano of this very beautiful, small ridge. It is loved by rock climbers enjoying the near vertical slopes. Actually, with this pano, I would like to honour my best friend who died 6 months later in hospital...

Canon Eos 60D with EF-S 17-55mm, 3 pics JPEG, 47mm (75.2 mm KB), iso 100, f 5.6, 1/400 s, PtguiPro 9971x3186 cropped to h=2474 downsized 2016x500 570KB JPEG

solved riddle

Comments

Ooh, then we started to take an interest in panorama photography in the same year, Mentor!! A well done landscape panorama - sorry, I don't have the time to solve it this morning, adhoc I would say that it looks a lot like France ... !?

Cheers, Hans-Jörg

Nice rock formation and certainly a good memory on a shared experience with your best friend.
The region is well known for great vines! I think, you've taken the photos in the surroundings of Beaumes-de-Venise and the name of the ridge is "Les Dentelles de Montmirail".
Cheers, Matthias.

Indeed Matthias, les Dentelles de Montmirail but the location was above Suzette near Station Satellite on the col connecting Suzette with Crestet, Vaison. But in the shadow of the Mt Ventoux...

I experience big problems with the bigger panos in Photos since I installed macOS Catalina. For instance doing edit to give a bit more light, then click done, results in a downloading error and destruction of the pano. Downsizing doesn't result in my height setting but in an automatic 511 or 487 pixel height. Importing a series of pano pics isn't done chronologically. I am angry on Apple.... Some photographers experiencing the same issues with Photos?

Not my area of expertise, so I'm thankful for the early resolution of the riddle. Cheers, Martin
PS: And very sad to read the part about your friend.

A very interesting area. I'm sorry for your friend.
