Location: Trail to Mera Peak (6003 m)      by: Pedrotti Alberto
Area: Nepal      Date: 15-04-2019
It was Kangchenjunga - literally, the "Five Treasure-Houses of Snow" - to send us the first light of the day while ascending to Mera Peak.
With its appearance, also the number of 8000 in sight grew to five. From left to right, it is preceded by Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu. Looking at the overall ranking, the permutation is thus 6-1-4-5-3, with only N.2 (aka K2...) remaining out of reach.

It appears that this series will relate to your already stunning Patagonia series according to the relationship of mountain heights. Looking forward to every new view. How did you travel there? Cheers, Martin

Martin: in April I did a tour in the Everest region. You can infer nearly everything about it reading the comment that I added yesterday to the adjacent panorama.
In May, this time alone with a sherpa, but without porters, and thus carrying more than 21 kg on my shoulders, I concatenated the classical "around Manaslu" and "around Annapurna" treks. The first one culminates in the Larkya La, 5160 m, which you reach starting from 550 m, and the second one in the Thorung La, 5416 m. However, as you can infer from material already published, I put many add-ons inside this tour...
A very valid reference for the subject is the Lonely Planet book "Trekking in the Nepal Himalaya". The current, after-earthquake edition has also the advantage of a wonderful cover picture with the Gokyo lakes!

Magic - and easily one of the best panoramas on this site.
