Vom Monte Epomeo hat man den besten Blick auf die knapp 10km lange Vulkaninsel Ischia. Der Gipfelfelsen besteht aus weichem Tuffstein, der oben zu einer Aussichtsplattform mit rundumlaufenden Sitzbänken bearbeitet wurde. Darunter wurde die Kirche S. Nicola in den Stein gegraben, des weiteren mehrere Wohnhöhlen, die zeitweise ein Restaurant beherbergten.
