El Chaltén was in origin name of the mountain now called Fitz Roy. Same as Chomolungma and Everest. The Ur-name, which now moved down to the nearby village, means "the smoking mountain", where the smoke, far from having volcanic connections, is bound with the floating clouds often coming from the Hielo Sur and playing around with the seven summits of the mountain, like here.
A nice subtitle for the picture could also be "Cana of Patagonia", after a recent comment by Alvise...
