Area: Spain      Date: 25-11-2008
This panorama was taken inside the Caldera de Bandama crater. This volcanic caldera reaches 569m above sea level at the highest point on its rim, Pico de Bandama, and is about 1000m wide and 200m deep. It has been dated at 20 BC. Originally a double cinder cone, the caldera was formed later. It is possible to see the north and east coast, and with a clear sky the neighboring island of Fuerteventura can be seen to the northeast.
