Solved riddle. I have not that many riddles so let's see who knows this extraordiniary place?
More text later on. CanonG1Xmark2, 11 pics, 12.5 mm ( 23.75 KB), iso 1000, f3.5, 1/80 s, stitched with Hugin, Panini projection, 2212x500 px. It was impossible to stitch it 100% correctly with Hugin. I also tried PanoramaStudio, Ptgui and Autostitch and none of them could do the job without matching errors. |

I know how difficult this "free hand" photography is, since my church panorama "Nagyboldogasszony és Szent Adalbert prímási föszékesegyház" or better the "Basilica to Esztergom" ;-)) ...
Best regards, Hans-Jörg
@ Hans-Jörg: what is your experience with such extreme perspectives, I mean which stitcher can do the job right? I feel I reached the limits with Hugin not only because my computer had to calculate nearly 10 minutes to stitch only 11 pics, but also and more importantly, it was impossible to match all the details, lines and curves well. Maybe it has also to do with lens deformation and the fact that shooting free hand isn't the appropriated way to do? I think the camera should turn exactly around 1 point in the plane of symmetry.
I am not an expert, perhaps you should ask the "church specialists" like Leonhard Huber or Christoph Seger! I have had good experiences with PTGui in my panorama "Basilica to Esztergom". With PTGui it is possible to mask faulty spots, and I was able to fix the problems - Panoramastudio has failed miserably.
Best regards and a good new week, Hans-Jörg
