Hi Jan. We are far enough away from Craco. Craco is an uninhabited city (a ghost town), while this is, as it may seem strange, an inhabited town.
But perhaps even stranger is to think that we are only 40 kilometers from a big Italian city.
Analyzing the trees I see a bit Fagus, maybe some oaks and cypresses on the hilltop / right side. Hence we are not quite far north neither quite far south. In Italy - of course!
Personally I think we are in the Marken or in Umbria. Not in "Tuscany", neither in the area of Bologna or even north. In all these places the mountains are too steep to allow for such plateaus ....
I thank you very much for taking me virtually through Latium. I learned that there are a lot of very beautiful places. So maybe next time we will not leave the autostrada at Firenze Sud but go on for some more Kilometers south ;-))

Hi Christoph. Alberto did just a simple game of words between "calcato" and "Calcata".
Calcato In Italian means different things. You can translate it in English with "trod" or "pressed".
