This is the pano with the 300mm. Around Monviso there are some clouds, so the profile is not that characteristic. One can compare with the pano 19053, in which the visual is similar, but is 100 Km closer and with better visibility.
The Alps were covered by clouds, except for the Monviso area. Left of Monviso is not possible to see any mountain peak. In case of excellent visibility you can see distant peaks 350 Km. To the right of Monviso maybe you can see the Punta Ramiere, but I'm not at all sure.

I don't think that there are any clouds around Monviso. To me the strange form of the summit is a typical refractive effect. KR Wilfried

The predecessor I like more, because there is more to be seen there. But this enlargement is also impressive. I agree with Wilfried.
