After the fantastic "European storm petrel experience" my companions left the site at appr. 0130 am. I found the whole "package" so intense, that I couldn't just leave. Since the night was warm, clear and calm I told them I would stick around for another hour or so, and find my own way home. When they left, the frequency of the petrels became much lower, and I slipped into a relaxed and reflective mode - all the impressions left me thinking I must be very lucky to witness this...one on one with some of the most elusive birds, fantastic weather and fantastic scenery. Finally, at 0300 am I "surrendered", and walked back to get a few hours sleep before catching the ferry at 0730 am. Nightpanos aren't my speciality, but when I got to the harbour I simply had to try and capture that moment - quiet, crisp clear, and a full moon, like a cherry on top, was too good to just let go.

My lack in skills regarding nightpanos shows, but perhaps it is of interest regardless of the noise and visible transitions.

Pano made from 11 LF pics (RAW), 50 mm, iso-1600, f/3,2, 1/30 sec, handheld, developed in DPP (shade, neutral, ALO off), stitched in PTGui pro, down-scaled and sharpened in Irfanview.

Ich empfinde das als sehr natürliche Nachtaufnahme. Nicht aufgehellt, dunkel ist eben dunkel! Sehr schön der Mond und sein Licht im Wasser.

Are there noctilucent clouds visible on the right end of the panorama?

There are beautiful moments, we can´t hold. I'm not an expert of the night too. The moon seems to be overexposed and the rest is rather dark.

@Björn: Yes, the high, thin, bright clouds are noctilucent clouds, though not that impressive here, I think. I usually see 2 or 3 very beautiful every year. The other day it looked like this at 0130:

I am not that impressed with the pano my self, but as written in the description, perhaps of interest for some. I have tried to dodge the transsitions in GIMP, but they can still be seen. I have tried to keep it as "natural" as possible, hence the dark overall tone. Must however admit, that it looks slightly better and more colourful when I open the TIF file. It doesn't really need compression, but still the lights of Tórshavn become much more dull and colourless when opened as a jpg. When I view it on my smartphone, it looks more colourful again. Strange...
