On the way from Gjógv to Saksun we made a few short stops at the roadside. First motif was the Eišiskollur, with the two rocks Risin (the Giant) and Kellingin (the old woman). Surprisingly, it has its own wiki-page, both english and german: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risin_og_Kellingin

Another pano done in haste; I am sure it can be done better. Remember however, that one cannot simply ascent every slope one wants - often roadsides are fenced, like Ireland...I did walk around a little, but this was the best I could manage. As was often the case, the sun would come through thin fog with a blinding effect.

Made from 10 pics (RAW), 50 mm, f/8, 1/200, iso 100, developed in DPP (ALO off, moderate sharpness, daylight, neutral), stitched in PTgui, gamma 0,95, a little more saturation, down-scaling and sharpening in Irfanview. The top of the mast has been cloned off for aestethic reasons.

Very beautiful. The landscape reminds me of the Scottish Highlands. Can you tell me what are the differences with the Highlands?

@Giuseppe, I think there is clear, overall similarity. If one is familiar with Iceland or Scotland, one will feel at home here. But here most tourists either watch birds, goes fishing, or visit family/friends. Therefore hikers will find themselves alone. Also you won't find any castles or ruins in the landscape - only small villages in calm places.

Spectacular landscape. Clouds and vegetation resemble the Scottish highlands, but for me the shape and appearance of the mountains is different. Cheers, Martin

My first associaton: You“ve been at the end of the world. But the antenna at the beginning keeps contact with the rest of the world.
