SOLVED RIDDLE
This is the "Sala Caldaie" (Boiler Room) of the Centrale Montemartini, the first power station in Rome. In this room there are some statues and Roman finds of great importance and some machinery of the old power station.

Very difficult - a Museum for Archeological excavations... In Greece ?
2015/09/09 20:22 , Hans-Jürgen Bayer
Yes it is now a museum. But before it was a very special building. It is not in Greece.
This is just one of the many rooms of the museum. It is a museum not very famous, but, in my opinion, very beautiful. For me it is one of the best of a city that has many famous museums.

@Jens: no.

I like the picture - and I really spent some time googleing things like "museum AND factory", "art gallery AND power station" and so on, but I still do not have any clue.

@Arne: it is as you say. It is a museum for lovers of famous classical antiquities, but also for lovers of industrial archeology....

This is Centrale Montemartini in Rome. Here you show the boiler room with the mosaic of Santa Bibiana

This was the first power station of Rome.
Now it contains about 400 Roman statues, but also almost all the machinery of the old power station.

Aargh, "Centrale AND Italy AND Museum" would have done...
I had all the words, but never together :-)

Well done, Jörg, well done, Giuseppe.

Dear Arne, this is not one of the most famous museums of Rome, but it is one of my favorites. There are also magnificent old machinery, not seen in this pano. The contrast between the old machinery and Roman statues makes it unique. For exemple, there are keys for bolts almost as large as a man...
It is difficult to achieve pano and to do this, without breaking the rules of the museum, I really struggled.

Peinlich für mich - aber da muss ich nun durch.
Nicely shown Giuseppe ! VG HJ

@Hans-Jürgen: I think you are a fan of industrial archeology and did not surprise me that you were the first to respond, even if incompletely
@Alberto: non saprei dirti. Questo non è uno dei musei più famosi di Roma, ma è uno dei più sorprendenti. A me è piaciuto moltissimo.

Giuseppe, you are of course right, I like architecural panos very much. With my resolution I was little off target. Had l only looked more at the items of the exhibition :-) VG HJ
