The Fortress of Miolans (Château de Miolans) is a former fortress prison located in a remote area of Savoy between Italy and France.
The site strategically controlled the route across the junction of the Isere and Arc rivers. The fortress was converted into a prison by the Counts of Savoy in the mid-16th century. The castle became known as the Bastille of the Alps.

Nice location Giuseppe ... but i prefer other Chateaus in France - Margeaux, Lafitte ... ;-)

Tanti saluti, Hans-Jörg

You're not wrong. This castle has never been a real aristocratic residence. Before it was a mountain fortress, then a prison. It can not be compared to the residential castles of the French nobility.
The most interesting feature of the castle is its dominant position.
