The Fox Theatre located in the Arts District of St.Louis (Still Midtown) was once one of the biggest Movie Theaters in town and one of five Fox Theatres across the country. The name came after William Fox a movie pioneer who built it in 1929.
The Movie Theater closed in 1978 and re-opened in 1982 after a major restoration. Today it is home for performing arts and musicals and one of St.Louis' landmarks.

@Giuseppe, Fox founded Fox Film Corporation, which later merged with Twentieth-Century Pictures (1935). At this time Fox was no longer chairman of the Fox Film Corporation as he lost control of the company at this time - mostly because of the stock market crash in 1929, but there were some more incidents at this time also with competitors (MGM). A Wikipedia article tells all about it.

Immer wieder interessant, was Du so mitbringst. In deinen Stadtpanoramen zeigst Du ungeschönt das Alltagsleben, das erzielt nicht immer "Höchstwertungen", aber ich glaube in zwanzig Jahren sind das die Bilder, die das Interesse am Meisten auf sich ziehen.

Schlechtwetter-Stadtansichten haben wir noch wenige. Wie das Pano hier zeigt, können die auch sehr gute Bilder hergeben. Leider kommt die Arbeit des zweireihigen Aufnehmens bei den 500 Px hier nicht ganz so zur Geltung. VG Martin
