Clermont-Ferrand is a French commune of about 150,000 inhabitants, capital of the region of Auvergne and of the department of Puy-de-Dôme.
It is known for:
the chain of Volcanoes (Chaîne des Puys) surrounding it;
it is headquarters of the Michelin tires;
in its surroundings was born Vercingetorix;
for its black Cathedral (lava stone built), from where the pano was taken.

Thank you very much for the comments. I also like very much the perspective.
I know that, in this site, does not like the cut towers ;-).
But I think that in this pano the cut towers are a positive element. They characterize well the pano, implying the place of shooting.
Obviously, it's just my opinion.

If you break rules (like the rules not to cut towers), you have to break them intentionally and dramatically - then you reach a realm where the rules are not valid anymore. This is a panorama with a very strong effect. Cheers, Martin
