Hidden in the middle of the Bjelasnica there is a fairy village that has not been touched by the war, and is visited both by tourists and by people from Sarajevo, typically on a Sunday trip, like I could check personally, having reached it on a Sunday.
Among the several dozens of visitors from the town there were also three girls, who some years ago helped a Dutch team to produce the short movie "Winterslaap in Lukomir", about the tough winter life in the village. For likewise tough people interested in a movie in Bosnian with Dutch subtitles, the right place is vimeo.com/41070797.
It was very amusing to look the three girls speak like old friends with elderly people of the village. One woman also even taking a photography lesson from one of the three... On picasaweb.google.com/albertopedrotti/Balcani_1#5920084143173481090 one sees her reactions after looking on the display her photographic achievements. I chose this image for the cover for a Balkan slideshow that I will do tomorrow, whence the idea to place a Lukomir panorama also here.
This photo, more than showing the village, shows its position high on the Rakitnica canyon, with the Visocica on the opposite side. It is taken from a little hill that seems to placed there right to please panorama photographers. When the famous queue will allow (es hat eine Schlange sich gebildet...) maybe I will publish something else from Lukomir.
