The Sharp observer will notice that a similar pano with a similar title has been uploaded earlier. The main difference is, that a stand of Pinus nigra obstructing the view over the point of Røsnæs has been cut down. Now the view is almost undisturbed.

I can take (some of) the credit for the cutting - I tried to explain to the inspector that a) Pinus nigra is an introduced species, and b) the more open view would turn the viewpoint into a pure blockbuster among viewpoints. I am glad he listened:-)

The pano was made from 20 pics (RAW), 50 mm, iso-100, f/10, 1/400 sec, developed in DPP (cloudy, neutral, moderate sharpness), stitched in PTgui pro, contrast adjustment, down scaling and sharpening in IrfanView.

... lightness, more details, more to see - so better than the other one, IMHO. Unfortunately without the agile cow ;-) KR Arno

I like it much - great to scroll through the entire pano !
Have you thought about to brighten it a bit - just a nuance ? VG HJ

Reload on 10164
@HJB1: I have "brightened up this dull day" a bit on my test site (10164). Please tell me what direction you want to go. LG Jan.

Very beautiful landscape study. Both versions are good, I prefer this darker, as always... LG Fried

It will not come as a surprise that the darker version is more to my taste, too. My impression is that you have succeeded in capturing the essential characteristics of this landscape. LG Wilfried

Hi Jan, thanks for sharing with me the brightened up version. Mostly I prefer light and bright pano. Did you decrease the contrast ? However it appears that the colours now are less saturated as on the current version. Maybe try with tone mapping by lifting the middle and upper levels, so that the contrast remains crisp. The bright parts will become more bright, of course, but this is what you expect anyway when looking into the sun.... HJ

My only complaint would be that one of the freight ships is partially hidden by a tree (;-))! Big like from Canada otherwise! Augustin

Thank you for the opinions. HJB has analysed the situation well - in the test version I first tried to brighten up the whole 2 ticks, but that wasn't so good. Then, as he suspected, I was afraid to make the sunbathed sea even more blinding, so I tried to brighten up 1 tick + gamma correction to 1,10. That would mostly brighten up the midtones. But it isn't that good either.

Both versions are de-saturated 1 tick, but the test version had a slight "digital" cast, so I took out/added a little blue/yellow.

Later in the evening I will try to brighten up the whole thing, and then lower the darker parts (that is what I like best in the pano - the dark clouds and the dark/clear horizon) - the sunlit landscape I agree is too dark.

LG Jan.

Reload II 10164
The new reload: GIMP - curves - in the high end of the curve it has been dragged to the left = lightened with dynamic range kept. LG Jan.

Before some days I saw a version I didn't really like. I think it was a little bit darker and with less fine outlines.
The ship in the lighted area is the eye-catcher, great!

What do you think about the test version, #10164? Lg Jan.

A REAL reload...
Everything brightened a little (a tick brightness and a tick in "curves", shadows kept dark, with levels in GIMP), a little red and magenta taken out (GIMP), no de-saturation, down-scaling and sharpening in Irfanview. LG Jan.

Wow, great! I think now it is not to increase anymore, isn't it?

A very authentic presentation (especially light and colors), I think.
