Location: Small gompa hill in Leh (3500 m)      by: Wolfgang Schmähling
Area: India      Date: 27.7.2013
Leh, the ancient capital of Ladakh, with Leh Palace, where the Ladakhi kings lived, and which is now being restored. Above it Namgyal Tsemo monastery with some beautiful old statues and murals. Below the Palace you can find the minarets of the big mosque within the main bazar area. And to the left towers Shanti Stupa, built recently by a Buddhist Japanese monk.
Leh, inspite of suffering from a big flood in 2010 and being invaded by Kashmiris and international tourists during the last decades, remains a beautiful and colorful spot amidst the barren slopes of the transhimalayan mountains.

Das frische Grün im Kontrast zu braunen Bergen und klarem Himmel, ungewohnt und anziehend!

Farben, die ich nicht mit Indien assoziiert hätte. Freue mich auf mehr. Peter
