Although yesterday the weather was not in favour of doing tele-pano-shots I decided to take a final foto of the island and the shipwreck. It was not before today in the morning, that I learned, that the last act of the Costa Concordia salvaging operation is to start within the next hours. Hence for the sake of historical completeness the picture. I will post a better version in the evening.

Wenngleich gestern das Wetter nicht wirklich Tele-Pano-Foto freundlich war hatte ich mich doch entschlossen abschließend den Blick auf Insel und Schiff festzuhalten. Erst heute morgen habe ich erfahren, dass innerhalb der nächsten Stunden das letzte Kapitel der Costa Concordia Wrack-Bergung anbrechen soll. Ich lade am Abend eine bessere (finale) Version hoch.

Technisches: Canon 550D, 225 mm Brennweite, ~ 50% Crop - damit rund 750 mm KB Brennweite. ISO 100, f/7.1, ~1/800, 32 Einzelfotos mit hoher Überlappung (Starker Seitenwind ...). Natürlich ohne Stativ. Hugin, PS, Gimp.

Lange hat es gedauert, bis hier endlich ein Panorama von Schettino´s Schifferl erscheint. Gut gemacht und dezent platziert...

Bin schon auf die Abend Version gespannt, diese hier ist aber auch schon sehr gut. Da erscheint der riesige Dampfer plötzlich gar nicht mehr so riesig.

Also mich hat die Dimension selbts auf diese Entfernung verblüfft ... vergleiche einmal die Häuser des Hafens oder das Segelboot rechts außen gegen dieses gewaltige Wrack ....

RELOAD

I did now a reload. The sharpness should be better. However I did still prefer to show the hazy view I had instead boosting the contrast to a maximum.

Looking at it from a distance it makes perfect sense to me that the captain wanted to go a bit closer to the island to see a bit more! (;-))

Wenn ich das Pano anschaue, finde ich es einleuchtend, dass der Schiffskapitaen etwas naeher an die Insel heransteuern wollte! (:-))

Dokumentarisch auf jeden Fall wertvoll - ich zum Beispiel stellte gerade fest, dass ich bis heute nie eine Ahnung hatte, wo genau dieses ekelhafte Unglück passiert ist.
