On the trekking route between Rumtek and Stok our little team (6 participants, 2 guides, 2 cooks, two horsemen, horses, mules and one donkey) camped at the foot of some beautiful colored mountains. We arrived early, so I had some time to climb a minor peak in the vicinity. On the next morning we went up the steep ascend to Stok La.
The Transhimalayas are a very dry region north of the Himalayan main range, but very rich in minerals. And the local pack animals still find enough grass on the slopes to feed on.

Hallo Wolfgang. This one has a strange light to it; it almost looks like from a filmset. However, it is also compelling at the same time. LG Jan.

It would do the happiness of all geologists.

@Jan. I'm using exposure fusion with PT GUI in this case. Otherwise either the shadowy parts would be totally dark or the sky overexposed. Exp. Fusion certainly enhances the surreal light, but the naked eye views were really quite surprising and overwhelming in many cases.
