I read the description of 12557. So if I get this right this village is abandoned except for some people ? Btw. a very nice narration, especially how you described the hands-free shot :-) HJ

Only maybe a dozen of families live there.
The previous evening, right after shooting the Ruined Mosque (as you read, with some technical help by Allah), while cycling on the unique road, I was called by one man, who invited me in his house. To be sincere: I was dully cycling back and forth in complete darkness (no electric power in that place) right because I expected/wanted to be called by somebody - I had no intention to leave that enchanted place.
The guy has a wife and two children in Errachidia, but he spends some days every week in the village since is working to a would-be basic cafè for would-be tourists...
We ate dinner and then he guided me in a full-moon visit to the interior of the kasbah. We had another guided tour next morning. On Picasa (picasaweb.google.com/albertopedrotti/ChebbiAyachi) you find some of the highlights of the place, such the well of the mosque or the olive press: one of the many ones once owned by the village!

One favourite picture after the other... e.g. Kasbah at Night.

Great pictures, also the "non-panoramic" ones on your album.

Many thanks to all the kasbah friends!

HJB: for those who appreciate the place in "sombre" mood, I have found another panorama folder on the disk, here is the result: www.panoramio.com/photo/92444935
Not at night (I had no tripod, and the walls of the kasbah, as you see, provide little help...), but very little before!

I'm addicted to this color combination of mud brick, desert rock and palm groves since many years - a scenery to be found from Morocco to Yemen and beyond. Cheers, Martin
