A little "something" for the botanic community...Since Heinz showed the Wiesen-Kuhschelle ssp. bohemica I thought it could be interesting to show the nominate ssp. from northeastern Germany and Scandinavia. If the colours are transmitted correctly on both panos, it seems there is a slight variation in the colour of the two: ssp. bohemica more magenta, and ssp. pratensis more violet. It can be quite abundant on certain locations, but it only spreads very slowly. Once it is reduced, it can take a long time to regain its former territory.

Also you can see, that it is made in the style of JE's twigpanos, with a very short depth of field, contrary to Wilfrieds flowerpanos with unlimited depth of field. After a short debate with myself I chose JE's style, because it gives a certain calmness and depth. If I needed to document a certain occurance I would probably choose Wilfrieds style, because the surrounding environment also is important.

As you can see, it is made of two panos; the first of 6 pics (RAW), the second of 2 pics (RAW). If necessary I can remove one of them. Handheld 300mm + 1,4x converter, iso-200, 1/1250sec, f/7,1, developed in DPP (5000 K, moderate sharpness), stitched in PTgui, re-scaled and sharpened in IrfanView.

If you want to get the flowers that big in the pano, you can't have an unlimited depth of field.
Pulsatilla pratensis is unknown to me, in my rambling area I can only find Pulsatilla vulgaris and Pulsatilla vernalis, which have a somewhat brighter colour. LG Wilfried

300mm x 1,4 x 1,6 = 672 mm, das ist eine stattliche KB-Brennweite. Bei Blende 7,1 und sagen wir mal 10m Entfernung hattest Du einen Tiefenschärfebereich von 15cm, immerhin. Zum Freistellen einer Pflanze in einer Aufnahme gerade richtig, vorausgesetzt das Bokeh ist angenehm. Wenn man aber ein Panorama aus mehreren Aufnahmen machen möchte, dann kann es Probleme geben.
Jan, die von Dir gezeigte Pulsatilla ssp. kommt auch an unserer Ostseeküste vor. Mit dem Farbunterschied, falls die Aufnahmen das richtig wiedergeben, meinst Du das Äußere der Glocke. Viel schöner ist aber die Farbe der Glocke im Inneren. Dazu muß man aber von unten fotografieren und da ist es gut, wenn man einen schwenkbaren Monitor an der Kamera hat. Jan, noch etwas zur Namensgebung: Die Gattung Anemone wurde vor einiger Zeit aufgeteilt in 3 Gattungen. 1. Bei den Anemonen (Windröschen) blieben die Arten, deren Griffel zur Fruchtzeit nicht verlängert sind. 2. Zur neuen Gattung Pulsatilla kamen die mit zur Fruchtzeit verlängertem, federig geschwänztem Griffel. 3. Bildeten die Hepatica eine eigene Gattung.
