You are really good at giving daylightpanos a certain twist. The view and the light is really fine, with the castle on top. What time of day, and what colourtemp. are you "spending"? LG Jan.

The castle is a church, but was of course preceeded by a castle. I would say it is a kind of riddle for all around not so familiar with the area, why this location is so famous to Bayarians and related Alpine tribes ;-)

Location
Dear HJ, I think I know where you have been standing - the ridge to the left is the mountain you mentioned in your text.

On a.-p. 21292 the ridge can be seen, I even added the name of a village when I did the finishing process of the picture. Your location is in google maps nameless, but of course a hidden jewel for panoramisti. In geoportal.bayern.de/bayernatlas one of the houses bears a name which can mean two things: meat providing animal of a musician or flat land owned by a musician.

Unfortunately you do not allow adding labels, I wanted to add "Scheibenweg 15" to one of the more prominent houses on the left.

Nota bene: The folks there seem to burn always something.

kind regards Christoph

Before I officially solve this work item (Christoph had it discovered) some technical details first. The colour temperature before the export was 5365. However I think the value cannot be transfered 1:1 to another camera type (not even to the same camera with different lens). The original value of the RAW picture was 5150 (my standard setting on my camera). So I changed the value a little to what we perceive "warm".
Now to the location: I came over Uffing am Ammersee, passed by Schöffau (GAP2), and shortly after the county border to Weilheim (WM15) I took a narrow road up to the Bromberg Alm (815m). Here you can park your car. The area is also well-known of its ski slope, which is equipped with three floodlight towers making it possible to run by night - if there is snow ... the relative height is approx 130Hm - I went up the slope and reached a farmstead near Geigersau. The lookout point is equipped with a solid stone wayside cross. A small sign says "Dreiseenblick". However I only could see Ammersee and parts of the Staffelsee. I was wondering what the third lake should be. The view towards the Alps (maybe not directly from this lookout point) is almost as good as the view towards North.
A continous view from the Hörnle to the Immenstädter Horn is possible. Highlights are the ridge of the Wettersteingebirge towards the Zugspitze (incl.), Schneeferner, Frieder, Teufelstätt, Dreisäuler, Kreuzspitz, Geierköpfe, Große Klammspitze, Gaishorn, Aggenstein, Auersberg and much more.

Wimmelbild - a picture with tiny little things to be discovered (or not).

Andechs - a monastery above the Ammersee on the so called "Heiliger Berg" a famous place of pilgrimage and today for almost everything ...

I was on my own today and didn't go to Andechs. For the sunset I'd chosen a different lookout point - one as interesting as this is.

Thank you for sharing this special place with us. I have to say it needs a good deal of local knowledge to find such spots. Regarding three-lakes: Can't you see the Graner Weiher from here?

I am looking forward to your sunset-picture!

Kind regards Christoph

To what extend one labels his/hers panos is one thing...Most important is that it is "verortet". I think a few people looks on the map to find if an area is panoramised. At least, thats how I started looking..."I'm going to Belgium next week, I wonder how it looks there - oh my god, it's awful/wonderful!"...something like that. So don't view it so pessimistic, in time it will show it's worth;-) LG Jan.

Hans-Jürgen,

der Dunst macht es wirklich spannend.

LG & behüt Dich Gott,

Christian

LG Fried
