Original 15338 x 4920 px

You are the big panorama
Hello Jörg. 36,3 mp - I wonder how many years it will take to reach 160 mp, as provided by gigashots? I hope you will enjoy your new camera anyway.

When I see yours and Christian Hönigs 360-panos, I often think that they are very short, and don't give an impression of an 360. Instead they are often very intense. Is there any reason you favour short panos, or do you simply want everything from top to buttom included? LG Jan.

@Jan:
I´m sure that in less than 5 years there will be the technology available to provide cheap sensors with more than 100 MP, but the bottle-neck will be the lenses: It will make no sense if the blurring of the lenses will be higher than the resolution of the sensor. Maybe there will be better electronic methods of reducing the blurring of the lenses so that a 100 MP can also be used in a smart phone. But good lenses will be expensive also in the future…

Short pano: This one is only 200 deg. My last one of Schloß Kaltenberg seems to be short, but it´s a two row pano…

@ Alberto:
No, it´s the standard D800, the D800E is not available at the moment….

Regards,
Jörg

I agree with the lens-part! I wonder if they will be better also? LG Jan.
