Area: France      Date: August 2013
Unfortunately there are no vertical panos and you can see the Eiffel Tower only in this way.
The Trocadéro (from where the photo was taken), site of the Palais de Chaillot, is an area of Paris, across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower.

Vertically, fantastically :-)

As I understand it:

1: All photographers are, beyond any doubt, sole copyright owners to their photos. Therefore sharing is highly forbidden, unless the copyright owner accepts every single share.

2: Also, photos of large pieces of art/light installations can be published (by the owner of the photo) on a private basis, that means by a person (rather than a company) on a non-commercial website.

To me it is unclear what that exactly means. As I understand it, limited (in size) and "loyal" (non-satirical, non-experimental) reproduction from public accessibleare ARE allowed. But I could have gotten it wrong...

Apparently, one can search for ones own photos (to see if they have been "lifted" off and used on other websites) through Google pictures. In "upload picture" place your picture, and if there is a match somewhere on the net, it may show...Take care, you might end up very mad:-)

Sorry, Giuseppe, very nice pano! LG Jan.

Ein schönes Panorama, ich kann mich jedoch den Ausführungen meiner Vorredner nur anschliessen und empfehle unbedingt, das Panorama besser zu löschen.... das kann teuer werden....

It is absurd and ridiculous, but it is. I have seen the official website of the Eiffel Tower
http://www.tour-eiffel.fr/fr/utiliser-limage-de-la-tour-eiffel/droits-a-limage-la-marque-tour-eiffel.html

I think for a moment and then I will decide what I will do.
2013/09/30 20:10 , Giuseppe Marzulli
Leider...
...eine absurde Rechtsprechung. Kostenlose Werbung mit einem guten Bild zu verbieten? Ob das im Sinne der Eigentümer sein kann?

Ich werde dort garantiert NICHT hinfahren....

I agree. A shame, Giuseppe. KR Jan.

I decided I will send an email to the official site of the Eiffel Tower to ask for the permission to publish the photo. Meanwhile I darken the picture. I apologize.
It seems absurd, but I think it is the best solution. I will keep you informed if I get the permission. If I will not get the authorization I erase everything. If I get the authorization I will put the picture again.
2013/09/30 21:02 , Giuseppe Marzulli
Even if you do not get the authorization you should leave this picture 13875 in the web-site. It is quite a document.
By the way, I do not agree with Jörg, that this "Rechtssprechung is absurd." This is the 21st century. Welcome, we are part of it.

I sent this email to the official website of the Eiffel Tower:

"Je vous demande courtoisement de pouvoir utiliser la photo ci-jointe afin de la publier sur un site, un forum de photos amateur sans but lucratif.
Je vous garantis que la photo ne sera jamais utilisée à des fins commerciales.
Je vous remercie de votre compréhension et vous envoie mes salutations les meilleures".

Let's see if they respond and what they tell me.
2013/09/30 23:47 , Giuseppe Marzulli
I would rather leave the French their rusty iron, and choose different illumination artworks - better and less copyrighted... See for example www.panoramio.com/photo/76862702 or 76860534
