I was not able to find information about this village and why it has been abandoned: presumably, some reason related with the construction of the Barrage Hassan Addakhil.
I met only a local guide in the lower Ziz valley who knew of it, but I did not have time to speak properly with him, since he had his group of tourists to care... It is completely ignored also on Google Earth, a strange thing indeed, since it is clearly visible from the major road N13, from which it can be reached by a walk of no more than 600 m.

I assume the former villagers where less thrilled by the setting in this dramatic landscape but rather more concerned on how to make a living from this dry environment. Accordingly, the only chance to give the place a future might be converting it to some auberge... Cheers, Martin
