In Denmark we have hybridus (slightly invasive), and here it is not everybodys favourite...why is this species disliked? LG Jan.

Jan, I can't answer your question. I like both species, not least because they appear so early in spring when you enjoy every single new sprout. LG Wilfried

Both Pestwurz-spezies are old medicinal plants with anti-inflammatory bioactivities (see Leonhard Fuchs: /www.waimann.de/capitel/249.html), hence the name. The most important modern day application is against migraine. So I do not see, why we should not like it. Why do you think this species is invasive in Denmark?

@Christoph:
Hi, I hope I have translated the word "invasive" correct...Here it means that an introduced species is growing at the expence of the original inhabitants. Bärenklau and Kartoffel-rose are other examples, behaving much more agressive. It has been verified as present for at least 1000 years here, so it is not a new one. I don't know why it is invasive, but it prefers damp and N-rich soils, and the development will continue to favour it. LG Jan.
