Erneut ganz große Klasse! Gut, dass Du vor Deinem Trip in eine neue Ausrüstung investiert hast. Das hat sich gelohnt. Farben und Detailschärfe sind deutlich besser als bei Deinen "alten" Panos. Das sieht man selbst bei 500 Pixeln Höhe.

... mich wundert mal wieder wie hier auf p-p die Sterne vergeben werden.
Dieses hervorragend ausgearbeitete Pano gerade mal 14 Sterne, ein anderes jüngst gezeigtes aus dieser Gegend nach wenigen Stunden auf 12 Sterne das selbstverständlich unter anderen Voraussetzungen erstellt wurde, aber qualitativ doch weit hinten ansteht.

Sicher eine Weltneuheit, von hier aus ein solch schönes Pano zu präsentieren!

@HJ - Deine Verwunderung zur Punktvergabe teile ich. Da ich jüngst aber auch überraschende Ausreisser nach ganz oben erfahren habe (mit Ende der Resonanz 36 Stunden nach Einstellen...) will ich mich nicht beschweren. Aber bei ein paar Dutzend Aktiven gibt es halt doch statistische Schwankungen von mindestens +/- 5, die das "Ranking" absurd werden lassen. Dieses hier verdient auf jeden Fall die TOP 100 - einer fehlt noch... VG Martin

Ja, so hatte ich mir das vorgestellt. Super in jeder Hinsicht. Da wäre ich gerne live dabeigewesen. Für mich das bisher schönste Bild aus deinem letzten Urlaub.

Jens (or maybe anybody else): today I was using this pano as a "benchamark" to work out a similar one - at least, shot with the same weather conditions!
I came up with two different versions, Alpen 25711 and Panorama 7449.
These Canon colors remain so puzzling to me...
Which one do you find more gelungen?
The question will eventually disappear.

@Alberto - I like the slightly more saturated ap Testplatz variant slightly more - but this is purely personal taste, and you will find an even distribution of tastes here on this platform. Both are fantastic - looking forward to permanent display. Cheers, Martin

- my preference goes to the pp-testplatz, because I think the ap-version has a bit too much contrast in the right part, under Fitz Roy. I would really like to hear more about "Canon-colours", since I don't always hit the same note as other fotographers here. Especially with Christoph Segers LR-pano on ap, I would like to know what characterises Canon in the colours. Links to panos showing typical Canonstyle will be welcomed! LG Jan.

I have sent my thoughts already yesterday by PM to Alberto. I also voted for the PP version, but the differences are small.

I am pretty sure, that if I had to develop this picture here again, now after more than two years I would do it quite different (not sure if the result would be better...).

This always depends on the "Tagesform" and of course the development in the underlying software or even more the personal knowledge and skills with this software.

Jens: thank you, only now I see your message.
For me, the problem is that also the combination "G1X Raw plus Lightroom" seems to show its own Tagesform. At times it works fine, at times it gives weird results. I read this also on the forums around, where especially green-magenta inconsistencies are reported. Here, for example, I had very greenish scree, and this affected to some extent also the Cerro Huemul. So, although I hastily summarized the thing by criticizing "Canon colors", the problem seems to be specific, maybe lying in the camera-specific profiles built inside Lightroom, of which the Standard used here seems to be the less worse (see also APA-27563). The mystery is why problems affect only certain pictures and not others apparently similar.
I am trying to cope with this, since for me resorting to DPP or trying out RawTherapee is simply too cumbersome. DPP shows sometimes better colors but a plenty of other limits (for example, zero highlight recovery, just to name one).
So, here I used your (Canon shot!) Cerro Huemul as a reference, working with an eye on it. Namely, it looked conformal in tone to other pictures that one finds around and - last but not least - conformal to my memory!
You can see "my" current Huemul on static.panoramio.com/photos/original/120941329.jpg After a series of tweaks, I have to admit that it is not that similar to the model! However, it is a compromise with other things.
Incidentally, the large version above corresponds to the APA-Testplatz version. In the large picture, even the very dark wall above Laguna Sucia is not that dark, which is maybe what Ian complains. I would definitely prefer this version for the large scale. For the 500 pixel I do not know.
