After a clear morning heavy clouds quickly covered the sky and the view to some of the volcanoes. By the time we reached the top, we were in thick fog. The Guagua Pinchincha is an active volcano, which last broke out in 1999. It's situated only a few kilometers away from Ecuador's capital Quito. But the lava fortunately took a different direction. Right now only small smoke columns can be seen in the crater and it is easy and save to climb to the summit. All of the shown volcanoes are situated on the avenue of volcanoes, which runs through Ecuador's Andean highlands from North to South.
